Financial Analyst

JOB SUMMARYUnder the direct supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Analyst is responsible for report development, data analysis, cost accounting, budgeting, and operational accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and informed decision-making.
This position requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work with complex financial data.
SCHEDULEThis is a full-time position based on a 40-hour workweek and is located on-site at our Central Office location located in Lincoln, NE.
The salary for this position is commensurate with experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSReport Development:
Develop and generate financial reports, statements, and presentations to provide accurate and timely information to management.
Create dashboards/scorecards that provide insight into business performance (e.
g.
service line profitability, productivity, etc.
).
Collaborate with other departments to identify reporting requirements and design customized reports to meet their specific needs.
Ensure reports comply with applicable accounting standards, governmental regulations, and organizational policies.
Identify and recommend changes to information systems that enhance data collection and reporting.
Data Analysis:
Analyze financial and non-financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support strategic planning, budgeting, and decision-making processes.
Perform variance analysis to compare actual financial results against budgets, forecasts, and historical data.
Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support special projects, cost control initiatives, and program evaluation.
Cost accounting:
Maintain and enhance the cost accounting system to accurately allocate costs and expenses across different programs and departments.
Analyze cost drivers and cost structures to identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvement.
Assist in the development and implementation of cost control measures and performance metrics.
Budgeting:
Assist with the development of the annual master budget for Region V Services.
Support the budgeting process by providing financial data and preparing budget-related reports.
Operational Accounting:
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial statement preparation and audit support.
Maintain the fixed asset schedules in the accounting system.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two (2) years of relevant work experience in finance or a related field Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Applicable work experience may be substituted for degree completion Proficiency with using MS Excel for financial reporting and data analysis
Qualifications:
Experience with accounting and payroll software including NetSuite and Paylocity.
Knowledge of governmental and non-profit accounting standards.
Knowledge of MS Access, Tableau, and other applications used for report development, dashboards, and data analytics.
Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.
g.
Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
).
CPA, CMA or other financial professional certification.
Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or related field.
